Before creating transfers using the External Features, you will first need to add an account in External Transfers in your Personal Online & Mobile Banking account. You can add an account in desktop online banking or Republic Bank app experience.  

You must be the owner of the account you would like to add in External Transfers. To add your account successfully, please have your external account routing and account number handy.

It’s important to note that adding and verifying account in this feature can take 2-3 business days to complete the add account process using the deposits method of verification. 


ADDING AN EXTERNAL ACCOUNT

1. To add an account in External Transfers in the app experience, log into the Republic Bank Mobile Banking app and tap Move Money on the bottom menu, then select External Transfers.

2. To get started in External Transfers feature, tap the waffle "Menu" in the top right corner of the feature, then tap Accounts.


3. Tap My Other Accounts on the Accounts tab, then tap +Add Accounts.

4. Select your account type in the Account-Type drop-down menu.

 

You may add a checking, savings, money market checking, money market savings, or a brokerage account type. The account type must be able to accept debits and credits.

 

Nickname your external account if you wish to do so and swipe up to scroll down the Add External Accounts page. 

 

 

 

5. Have your account and routing number handy.

Enter your external account routing and account number. You will need to re-enter your account number a second time to verify it is correct. 

If your account and routing number are correct, External Transfers will detect your external account financial institution. 

Tap Next.





EXTERNAL ACCOUNT VERIFICATION


6. To successfully add your account, you will need to verify that you own the account and accepts credits and debits successfully. 

Some financial institutions allow you to verify instantly by logging into your external bank account from the External Transfers feature. 

All financial institutions have the option to verify your account with small bank deposits to your external bank account in 1-3 business days. To verify your account with bank deposits, tap ‘Verify with Bank Deposits’. 

 

7. There are 3 steps to verify with bank deposits. In 1-3 business days you’ll receive 2 deposits from Republic Bank to your external account to verify that you own the account. 

If you agree, select ‘Send me two deposits’. 


8. You’ll then receive a Trial Deposit confirmation, letting you know your two (2) deposits are on the way in 2-3 business days.

 

Select Done.



 

9. Check your email for confirmation of adding your account and instructions for how to verify your deposits.


VERIFYING YOUR DEPOSITS



10. Return to your external account financial institution website and review your account history for deposit (less than $1) from Republic Bank.

 

If your trial deposits are present in your external accounts’ history, log into your Republic Bank Online & Mobile Banking and visit External Transfers in the Move Money menu.

 

Tap Accounts on the External Transfers waffle Menu and tap Verify.

 

11. Enter the deposit amounts in the boxes in step 3 and tap Verify.

 

12. If your deposit amount is entered correctly, you will receive successful account verification and the added account is completed and ready for transfers.

 

Select Done.

 

13. You will then return to the Accounts tab and view the status of your account. The “Active” status indicates you are ready to create transfers between your Republic Bank account and your verified external account.
